English Football : The Beautiful Game?
Who's the Daddy of them all?
Our Football chatting chums Norbert & Piranhafish were chatting down the pub last week and got to talking about the Players featured on this site and they sort of came to the conclusion that this man is undoubtably the most loved footballer ever, so far that is, by people who visit this site.
Bonzo has undoubtably stirred the passions of Hammers fans, and indeed neutrals, enough to make them want to write in and share their passion with us, far more than any other player.
So, we've created a little list of the players most loved (i.e more people have wrote in and shared their memories with us) and the surprisingly least loved (i.e hardly anyone's bothered to write in at all...
Here are a few of our other most talked about heroes...
Yes, he does look a bit like Cheggers, but this boy
Knowlsie is perhaps one of our lesser known, but most fondly remembered players. His story is a real good read too, and one of a potential never fully reached.
Alex Williams is also proving to have a fair old fan club, and is very fondly remembered by just about anyone who ever contacts us.
Whether it's the bloke who Alex used to coach in the youth team, or his Nan, they all love big Alex.
And, yard dog centre halfs will be cringing around the land when we tell you that mad centre forward Dave Hickson is also very high up on our most appreciated list.
Here are a few of our least talked about heroes... And there are some REAL Surprises.
For a man who is always promoted as his club's best ever player, Colin Bell has had remarkably little penned about him by the Blue half of Manchester, or indeed, by anyone else for that matter.
Football England are slightly bemused by this.
Also, Digger Barnes has failed to get you scribbling. Even when he was on Strictly Come Dancing his popularity was unbelievably low.
Des Walker too has recieved precious little backing from you as well. Surely there must be some England fans out there that want to tell us how magnificent he was?
Even if it's just to write in and let us know that he was crap at school. Get writing.
I would imagine that once you've had a shuftie, you may want to let us know what you think of our Football England heroes....?
So, just have a look at our list of Player Profiles, pick out your favourite, and you can submit your comments in the box at the bottom of their page.
